Mike Let’s see… a little about myself… I was born and raised a southern boy down in Atlanta Georgia. I started playing guitar when I was in 6th grade but that lasted only about 6 months. Started my college career down at Georgia Southern University where I played collegiate tennis and started playing guitar (sweet). I’d lock myself in my room on Friday nights just so I could perfect the songs I was learning. I’d say my guitar addiction was borderline unhealthy. But I still managed to have a little too much fun down there (bottoms up!), if you know what I mean! Let’s see…then I transferred to Georgia Tech (boring!) where I got my Mechanical Engineering degree. I’m not really sure why I put myself through that torture, but I didn’t know what else to do and by this point I was just curious if I could do it. It was kind of funny though…everyone at that extremely dorky school only talked about what they want to do with their engineering degree and when it came my turn to speak everyone would get a good laugh when I told them I was going to be a rock star…I hope they’re having fun in their cubical… Ok, now is where my life begins to get fun. Out of college I took a job as an application engineer (this was not the fun part…stay with me). Basically I had to deal with engineers from other companies and try to convince them to use my company’s product. Sooooo when my best friends band lost their lead guitarist and needed help finishing recording I jumped in, finished the cd, quit my job, sold everything besides my guitars and moved to Miami where I went on tour with the band Manjo Potts. Up till this point, it was the best time of my life! Well, the band went south (women!) and I needed to get out of Florida so I took a job that moved me to Salt Lake. Probably the best move of my life! Now I’m playing with some amazing musicians and writing some awesome music! Can life get better? Never settle for less!
So if you’ve gotten this far, you know how I got here. But what do I love to do? Just about everything! Hiking? Love it! I have to hit Jack’s Peak multiple times a week. Tennis? Yup, still a teaching pro…Flying? Yes please, I’m a pilot that flies just enough to not loose his license (ask Nik how good I am, our last flight he spent most of the time yacking)…Mountain biking? Have too! Gym? Yeah, gotta stay buff right? Motorcycling? Don’t get out as much as I like to but if you want to cruise just call me! Dogs? Well, I don’t love to do dogs but I love my dog very much. His name is Jax, I named him after Jack’s Peak. Lets see…um…love fixing anything, doesn’t matter what it is. Ping-Pong is a necessity for me. Traveling is a must! Montana is pretty much my favorite place in the world. If you haven’t see Glacier National Park you should! And of course I love camping! Now you are basically my best friend because you pretty much know everything about me! Hope I can get a chance to meet you! See you at the show!
